Joe: So my background is just a conglomeration of bits of knowledge from all sorts of sources, some traditional some mostly not traditional. I’ve had a habit of, despite being a professional music musician for a number of years, as much as I love music I gave up listening to music when I drive because it’s just way too valuable of time that was lost, there’s a tip for you, there’s nobody on the planet the loves music more than me. I’ve actually had tests on a psychological standpoint that my music interest is massively spite, off the charts. So it was genuinely a sacrifice to give up listening to music when I rode in to work but it was 30 minutes a day that I spent one way in a car, so an hour, at least, of time that I could gain knowledge and so I’ve used that time to…
Chris: So you’re a big audio book fan?
Joe: Yes.
Chris: Or podcasts…
Joe: Huge, yeah, absolutely! Huge, huge.
Chris: So do you listen to our podcast?
Joe: I can promise you I’m going to.
Paul: At least number 27.
Joe: I was going to say number 27 for sure. I’ve got a definite interest in that.
Paul: So what type of entrepreneuring are you up to these days?
Joe: I’m now the director of marketing for a company called Improve My Credit USA. We grew out of…
Chris: And your website is focused on improve my credit houston improvemycreditusa.com?
Joe: Yeah, imagine that, it’s improvemycreditusa.com. I definitely, you know one of the marketing tips that I would contribute today is the old saying keep it simple stupid.

Chris: When their credit’s clean and I can come back and get the sale or something.
Joe: Exactly! We’ve given them the ability to have their own account. They can go to our website, log in and view the progress of their customers. So all of that is designed to, everything in our company, and this all goes back to I’m not just sitting here doing an infomercial for customer, I mean for my company.
Chris: And you’re company name again is?
Joe: Improvemycreditusa.com. All of that, once you, as a business owner, can really latch onto the thing that’s set you apart, right? Don’t tell me you’re the fastest, all that stuff, tell me why and know it. Because when you know what you’re thing is it’ll transform your company.
Chris: Right.
Joe: Right? Once we had the 100% communication promise in our head, everything that went closer to more communication, better communication, faster communication, that’s what we, exactly! That’s what we’ve gravitated towards. We have a thing on our home page to where you click on, it says have a question? Click to chat with an agent now. Right? And they have those out there, various companies offer them. Well, we went with one over other ones that allowed me to set up my mobile phone and any number of other people in the company that we wanted to pay for that option, to where if we’re not in our office and logged into the software, it automatically just rolls over to our iPhones so if we do have someone that hits our website who wanted to speak to us, it just comes up on my phone like a text message.

This caught me totally of guard. I opened my clients website one day and I had this error. I do not know what happened how it got “upgraded” the usually referenced cause or how it worked the day before and then started generating this error the following morning. None of that matters you need a solution fast.
If you go in your _fpClass folder of your site and edit the following file fpdbrgn1.inc. You will want to change, At about line 19:
fp_DEBUG = False
to
fp_DEBUG = True
Now you might get an error message with the following:
Thanks to Microsoft and their thorough debugging once again.
The quick solution I found was to replace the fpdbrgn1.inc with the file that was there before the upgrade. I would have been screwed if I did not have a backup on my development server. When I replaced the new file with the old file all was well. I thought I would do this blog entry for anyone who might not have the saving grace of a development server holding an older version. So here is the older version I used. Download fpdbrgn1.inc here.

Chris: Hi and welcome to the E-Webstyle Unknown Secrets of SEO podcasts.
Paul: Hi, thanks for joining the podca-, you always start. You don’t say ‘Alright are you ready?’
Chris: Oh, like do we need a countdown or something?
Paul: I’m like in mid-text, it’s like whoa! Right, right, right…

Paul: And this is Paul Hanson, Sales Manager of E-Webstyle.
Chris: Thank you guys for listening. We’ve got another amazing podcast lined up for you in the next week. Remember what we were talking about earlier?
Paul: Uhh…
Chris: It looks like next week we’re going to be doing an interview.
Paul: Yes, and thanks for the requests; thanks for all the feedback. We’re going to have a great interview of which company?
Chris: Well his name is Joe Orsak and he is the Director of Marketing of a company called Improve My Credit USA. They do credit repair houston.
Paul: So if you have bad credit, you definitely need to listen to this podcast.
Chris: And we’re going give-, I’ve already glanced at his website. He’s totally open; he’s a high-energy guy; he’s going to have lots of really valuable information, and you’ll actually get to see how we analyze a company and look at a company from day one – because he’s not using our services, he may or may not use our services and that’s okay, but what we’re going to do is just tell him what we would do for his website. So, that’s going to be really exciting.

Chris: Those tools are really very useful. Do go back and you know, understand how to use those tools and how we use those tools. Go back and listen to our previous podcast. I am sorry; I don’t know what it is but…
Paul: How about 15? Why not?
Chris: You could… Yeah.
Paul: Yeah, it works.
Chris: Fifteen-ish – it’s in the teens. So we’re going to look at the keyword analyzer tool and the other one, meta tag analyzer tool; and Paul, for all those people who don’t know, what is a meta tag?
Paul: A meta tag is a gr-, a bet-, a meta tag – you may read it as meta-information – is information that’s behind the scenes on your website that’s going to be read. Not by a visitor, but by a search engine robot or a Google-bot or Spider-bot, whatever you want to call it.
Chris: Sorry about that. I was just making sure we don’t get a call.
Paul: So a search engine is going to read that stuff and that meta-information tells the Google-bot, or whatever, information about your website. It can tell them information about your keywords; about the description of that particular page; about the title of that page; the author of that page. I mean, there’s – I think I’ve seen like 200 different meta tags. So that’s what a meta tag is and hopefully by now everybody – if you’ve been listening, you probably should know that by now or probably do know that by now.

Chris: Make the checks out to Chris. Well let’s go ahead and do an analysis. We just picked up; well we’ve been doing their website and their IT work here in Houston for quite some time. The company is www.APM-USA.com, it’s APM metals – American Precious Metals – and so we used this same www.Metatags.org keyword meta tag analyzer tool on their website, which is www.APM-USA.com – I think I said that already.
Paul: Yeah.
Chris: Alright, so we won’t repeat that again, you know? Okay and what you’ll
notice is there are no meta tags.
Paul: Ohhh…
Chris: Because the…
Paul: There’s a lot of red on that page.
Chris: Our web design and development division focuses exclusively on – and
here’s how we like to phrase that. We like to provide a website that represents the quality of service that our customers give to their customers, right? So we focus on that. We focus on the graphics; we focus on the text; we focus on the ease of use, and we create these beautiful, very useful and customized websites for our clients. Then, when our clients are interested in search engine optimization, we re-work the details of the behind-the-scenes details of the website. Sometimes the text on the front page, but we re-work the behind-the-scene details and obviously, the inbound links. Those are very important. So you look at www.APM-USA.com, there’s no meta tag; there’s no keywords; there’s no – well it says that the title relevance to the page content is horrible because the title says ‘APMUSA American Precious Metals’ and probably there’s none of that text on the homepage.

Chris: That’s an SEO podcast by E-webstyle. I am the owner of E-webstyle.
Paul: And your name is?
Chris: And my name is Chris Burres.
Paul: Just call me owner. That’s how I got to meetings. Just call me owner. Owner, like in a contract, you know, a legal contract. From here on known as owner, and you will be client. And since there are 3 of you, client A, B and C. Excellent, we… you may have noticed, or probably not, if you’re listening to the podcast, we went in and we changed the title of the podcast. That was an incredibly interesting story because I had attempted to change the title, the podcast, oooh….

Paul: What do you think? So, would you, if you were going to look for pricing of, you know, anything in general, like anything you want to buy. Anything or specifically tickets, would you be going to Bing instead of Google or are you going to go to, like, where do you go?
Chris: I would still go to Google. I… I’d go to a ticket like Expedia or…
Paul: Or
Chris: …yeah, one of those kind of places. I, even with this, I still don’t go to. I was looking for a hotel in New Orleans. Still didn’t go to Bing.
Paul: Where did you go?
Chris: I went to Hotwire.com. Free plug for Hotwire. Send me a check.
Paul: They’ll send you something. Yeah, so even if it was a, especially if you’re going to New Orleans…
Chris: Yeah
Paul: …you’ll get something.
Chris: It’s a cool feature, but, you know, I personally I just. It’s not cool enough to make me switch.
Paul: Were you going to go check the dykes out in New Orleans or…
Chris: I’m never going to comment on that one. My mind went a whole different direction.
Paul: That’s the long end of the French Quarter. Bourban Street at the end, don’t turn right. Alright, let’s get into, so that’s… So, basically, you’re saying you’re only going to use Google and, you know, it’s a neat, really neat feature and you’ll never use it.

Paul: And this is, this is classic not what Google wants, right. The last thing Google wants is somebody to go to their search engine, type, type in, I don’t know why anyone would type this in. But, type in Texas BBQ pit Texas smokehouse. Which is pretty long, make these specific and have a political website come up.
Chris: That’s a classic example of what Google doesn’t want. But what I don’t want.
Paul: Exactly
Chris: I want Barbeque smokehouse, I don’t want Kay Bailey-Hutchinson.
Paul: And that’s why Google doesn’t want it. Because if, if people are pulling up. The next one is: chicken fried steak recipe. If I type in; chicken fried steak recipe, and up comes Kay Bailey-Hutchinson’s, you know, political website, I’m not happy as a searcher.
Chris: Yeah
Paul: And if I’m not happy as a searcher, I’m using another search engine and then Google and Google loses its, I guess its credibility because their search results start to suck. So, those are things that will specifically get you banned on Google. So, don’t do it.
Chris: Don’t do it.
Paul: And, and the one I really liked actually was, why do we have knees?
Chris: Oh my God. When I read that, I was like, come on, why would you optimize for that, that search query. Why do we have knees? And that’s actually in her hidden text. Why do we have knees?
