Chris: Go back and listen to our podcast and I can actually–it should be–I think that was podcast 31. Podcast 31. Anyway, Joe has sent us one question after that and then this is his actually his second question. “Thanks, Joe. We’re still in touch. Awesome. Here’s a quick question. If you have bunch of domain names like improvemycredithouston, improvemycreditdallas, improvemycreditaustin, and they all forward to one improvemycreditusa.com website, how does Google look at that? Good, bad, indifferent? Does it help at all? All right. Do you have any theories or postulation?

Paul: If I had to take a wild guess–

Chris: And when you say you’re wild you’re using–

Paul: Wild and crazy. I mean just out of control guess. I’d say okay, Google’s intelligent enough to understand that. You’re pointing all of these URLs or to the same place. All of these websites are going to go to the same place. So my concern would be like, would maybe–would it consider duplicate content? Would Google consider these separate websites or one website? If it considers them separate, then they all have the exact same thing on them. And maybe–

Chris: That’s great.

Paul: That’s right, yes.

Chris: We need some images of that on the website. All right. So the next thing that’s in this list, again, we did back links, quality site content, good title tags, the next is no Java Script for content.

Paul: Yeah. What does that mean? I know every website’s got Java Script.

Chris: Yes.

Paul: Or just about–

Chris: Yeah, a lot of them have Java Script. Really what it’s looking at is a couple of things. so there are some levels of Java Script. Java Script is usually used for the navigation buttons, all right. Like in (22:36), I mean it’s used for all sorts of things on a very classic website that uses Java Script, there are it uses Java Script for the buttons. And kind of the point here is that Google can’t follow some Java Script, all right. So you may have these nice buttons. They–buttons may actually be text but you’ve done some unique things with Java Script so the text changes color or the website sings or whatever it does as their scrolling over the particular links, if that’s all done with Java Script, there’s the potential that Google can’t actually traverse your website.

Paul: Okay. It’s the best to not have Java Script on your navigation?

Chris: No. It’s actually good to have Java Script because it can do some very fancy things. So that’s actually a good thing. What you want to do and what we often end up doing with our clients is at the bottom of their website, we’ll kind of a link pyramid.

Paul: There’s nothing there and that’s going to create a bounce and that’s another reason you have to have good content. Always explaining to customers we really optimize for two entities. We optimize for the search engine robot so that it will like your site and return it high in the search results. You also optimize for the visitor because once they get to your website, you have to entice them to stay there and to do something and spend a lot of time there.  We call this Search Engine Visitor Optimizaiton and You can learn more about this at this link  Internet Marketing Houston.

So you have to keep that in mind. And I see some sites that are really good at content but maybe not good at optimizing for the search engine or vice versa. So I think everybody should probably understand that.

So you got to optimize for both. Got to have the content and you got to have good SEO to get the person there so they’ll read your content.

Chris: So what you’re really saying is we’re actually SEVO experts?

Paul: SEVO?

Chris: We’re world class experts in SEVO, Search Engine Visitor Optimization.

Chris: He was waiting for his seven virgins and, look, I am just quoting whatever they’ve put in the press. I don’t know the details. I haven’t read it myself but arguably he was waiting for his seven virgins after this phone call. One of them, he was hoping was getting, “Hi, and welcome to your seven virgins. I’m your first, Gisele Brady.” Wait, not a virgin.

Paul: So that, oh, yeah. That guy was going to jail. (07:45) put him under the jail forever.

Chris: That is crazy.

Paul: And that was, too, that kind of sucks, man. That’s a little too close to home to me.

Chris: Yeah and he was going to take–it’s kind of funny ‘cause he was going to take out–not funny but his thought process he’s going to take out a bank in Dallas and this was going to cripple the remaining–cripple the American economy.

Paul: A local branch of a bank.

Chris: Well, no. It was-it was–

Paul: Oh, okay.

Chris: It was a big whatever 20, 40, 80-storey building or whatever–

Paul: Oh, wow.

Chris: It was a skyscraper. But it’s still just one building. That doesn’t cripple the industry.
