Chris: I don’t know. I thought of bringing – - if anybody’s got any kind of a pontification on why ah Yahoo closed geocities instead of actually spinning it off or trying to convert all of them to or whatever, 10% to paying customers,
Paul: ‘Cus they’re pushing their own hosting now aren’t they?
Chris: Yeah. Yeah.
Paul: Yahoo hosting? Like …
Chris: So why not roll it …
Paul: … what’s the difference?
Chris: … keep it together and roll it and then transition it slowly …
Paul: Yeah.
Chris: I don’t know it’s very strange. And again, 1.5 million hits, you know, there’s a lot of people out there who would love to have 1.5 million hits, okay lets …

Chris: As it works. But sometimes you know you start, some people would get up into the source code and I like to get into the sources code …
Paul: And starts doing it wrong …
Chris: … and makes it so it tweaks.
Paul: Oh, okay.
Chris: And if I make a mistake there the package that we use might not be able to catch that mistake, you put it online and you validate and you’ll find it out. The other thing is, you can put a whole website together and you post it up there and it validates sometimes the term validating a website will actually apply to making sure that all the links are, you know that there aren’t any what are called dead links. You know. So maybe your home page used to link to, you know we were talking about this recently. SEO Houston and we decided that we wanted to change that page to Internet Marketing Houston, well if we still have links to SEO Houston and that page no longer exists, that’s a dead link.

Paul: Do you listen to the podcast? Ok, all right, I’ll get off that soap box.
Chris: Yeah. You know, what I bet it’s probably people trying to outsource, in hoping we would outsource our work.
Paul: Outsource our work. Not today.
Chris: Yeah, not going to happen. All right! So, you know, we were supposed to have Charles here today and I had worked up, I told you, I had worked up this…
Paul: You did tell me you had a good intro.
Chris: A brilliant intro and it’s, it’s not, it’s not, I’m disappointed.
Paul: No oomph without, why? You can’t perform it for me? I’m not the…

Paul: Oh, and that’s another thing. If you just have to use a splash page there’s some kind of coding you can put in it where it only shows, a cookie, where it only shows once. So if I go on that page, the first time on that computer, it shows it to me. If I go back on that same computer it doesn’t show it to me. Do that if you just have to have a splash page. And there’s people who like them.
Chris: And also, you know, there’s a lot of value in the index page, if you will, the first page of your website. Google can give that a lot of value so don’t, even if you’re going to do a flash, make sure it’s actually a flash that’s on top of your page right, so that when it goes away then the text is there. I wouldn’t even recommend that because we just don’t recommend splash pages.
Paul: They’re pointless.
Chris: Yeah.
Paul: To me it’s just pointless.
Chris: The only kind, the only kind of page that you might think it’d be valuable is a really artistic page right?
Paul: Ok, yeah.

Charles: It was crazy ‘cause after we debuted I went down there at SES, I mean literally, you know, the guy, Kevin at La Mousse orchestrated SES, he was like, “You can’t upload. You have to debuted down here.” So we debuted down there, got back to the hotel room, uploaded it to YouTube on a Friday, I think it was. Monday, back in Houston, it was already at 10,000 views.
Chris: Wow.
Paul: Which one? This was—
Chris: Design Code.
Charles: Design Code, it was Design Code.
Chris: Yeah.
Charles: By the end of the week, it was at 100,000 views.
Paul: You have a couple of million now, I think.
Charles: Well, no. Design Coding still obviously was the most popular is like right at 500,000.
Paul: Okay.
Charles: Collectively, almost at a million.
Paul: Okay.
Chris: Cool, that’s awesome.
Paul: Wow
Charles: Yeah, so after that, then we did—I did a remix to Social Media Addiction.

Charles: Because I mean ‘cause Twitter is, you know, twitter.com/chuck. But like I mean, you know, I’m a Twitter-holic. I use Tweet deck and I keep it open. And I find out half the news before CNN finds out, before, you know, it was already a trending topic on Twitter before the news comes on at 6.
Chris: Wow.
Charles: You know, and so, it did make sense for Google to rank that.
Chris: Yeah. It does.
Charles: Why not rank it?
Paul: Yeah, I mean ‘cause I mean that’s where people are going these days. When something happens in the news, Michael Jackson dies, Kanye West pissed somebody off, it’s on Twitter.
Charles: It’s immediately.
Chris: When you say ‘someone,’ you mean everyone?
Paul: Yeah. Immediately. So I guess it makes sense for searching, let’s say, let’s get some of that. It’s relevant—
Charles: It’s gross.
Paul: And it’s new and it’s changing constantly.
Chris: We talked about this in one of our podcasts. I didn’t really realize the value of, you know, we’re so busy trying to grow the company and we’re doing things for the company and for our clients that, you know, sometimes, we don’t have the opportunity to stay on top of things as on top of everything as much as we can. I didn’t realize how big Twitter was until Michael Jackson died and the vj’s on MTV were reading off the tweets from the other celebrities, you know, (23:12) and I was like, “Oh, wait a minute!” (23:17) big. I think it was about a week later we started our Twitter—
