Chris: And Texas in general. Well, we told here, “You’re probably going to be on the first page for some very national terms,” and she is. And so, I told her right upfront from the beginning, I said, “You’re probably going to want to start selling stuff online.” And she is a lady who at that time was thinking, “You know, oh, then I got to ship and if the products get broken and then it just sounds like a whole big headache.” And I just pointed to her, we were in her showroom, she has a showroom and a warehouse here in Houston, I said, “Would you rather expand your showroom or your warehouse?”
Paul: I’m going to say warehouse.

Chris: WordPress can be used as an entire website and it’s effectively a content management solution. It lacks some of nuances of other more comprehensive content management solutions and it still can be used as one, and it has capabilities. There are like plug-ins that you can put into it that will actually start using more web search engine friendly URLs.
Paul: Okay.
Chris: So, if I have an article like in our WordPress blog, like Blue One Armed Widgets, when I put that in the title, that also actually becomes the title of the page and it’s also actually the URL. So, Google gives a lot of credit. That’s why we’re on the first page for Blue One Armed Widgets.
We can do more (laughing). I just want to throw that out. That’s not the only thing. It sounds like, wow, those guys could get on the first page of Blue One Armed Widgets. They suck.

I was recieving an error:
personal.xlsm is locked for editing
by ‘user’
Open ‘Read-Only’ or click ‘Notify’ to open read-only and recieve notification when the document is no longer in use.
everytime I opened excel and the error was related my personal.xlsm file which was located in the XLStart folder. When I finally researched it I realized that, probably due to a computer crash, .xlsm file was still stuck “open”. When I navigated to the folder I noticed the ~$personal.xlsm still existed even when excel was closed.
Once I deleted this file the problem went away.

Chris: I am thinking this might be that the Google crawlers are no longer crawling his website because they recognize that he in on Google Analytics, blah, blah. That is not the answer to this particular question.
I’d want to ask you a couple of things. One of them is you do realize that your traffic is not going to be consistent. You’re not going to look and have 419, and in fact when you go the next day and when Google Analytics is looking at, you know, a month starting from today going back a month, whatever traffic you had on the day it just dropped, you know, is going to different. So that is going to be changing on a regular basis.
The number, the delta that he has here is like 70 visitors. I wouldn’t even think twice about 70 visitors in a month-long period. He sent this in February so we could have coming off of, you know, the January off of the holidays.

Chris: Goal completed. So that’s the kind of things that you want to follow.
The other is on a shopping cart, the Thank You page after purchasing is a goal. So now, you know that your goal is to get them purchase. The only way ‑ the thing that indicates to Google that somebody has purchased is not the order form page, is not the shopping cart, you know, the actual shopping cart with all the items in it, it’s the Thank You for Purchasing page. That’s when you’ve reached your goal. And you actually full e-commerce in tracking them out and we’ve done that on a number of our clients.
So Darren, hopefully that answers your question. If you wanted anything ‑ I don’t know if ‑ it says guides. I don’t know if you need anything further than that. Well, let us know. You’ve been in contact. You’ve been a longtime listener, so we really appreciate that.
I also like this. He asked, “Does anyone actually know what Google means?” Right? And he goes to this website and the website is abbreviations.com and then you put a slash Google, and you’ll find ‑ apparently, this is a website that goes and finds abbreviations that people make and there’s a whole bunch of them. And he says he likes God’s only online gateway linking electronically.

Paul: So, what’s up for today?
Chris: Oh, are we done?
Paul: What about Buzz? What was Buzz?
Chris: Well, Google Buzz. You can cover that.
Paul: Okay.
Chris: I’ll be right back.
Paul: A day or two ago, I was following a friend of mine on Facebook. She brings up, “Oh, now there’s ‑ Buzz is out. I got something else to take me away from my time. I got Facebook, I got Twitter, and now there’s Buzz.” And I’m like wow, this chick is not an IT or anything like that. So, I’m like man, I need to catch myself up on what’s going on, so I should have been first to catch it. So, I Google Google Buzz and this is what it kind of looks like. Forty-Sixth E-Webstyle.com Internet Marketing Podcast Feb. 12th 2010. Third page of Transcription
Chris: Well, Facebook is more social media. Yeah, social. So, Delicious is one. BlinkList, which I have never used. StumbleUpon which I actually like. I use it on my lunch breaks all the time. And Digg.com. So, those are social bookmarking sites and so you want to try and get your website on one of those. And so, often what we talk about when we’re talking about the process of engaging and social marketing, you actually have to be a member of those sites typically, and you want to have friends who have influence, you know, friends who a lot of people follow, a lot of people like to follow what they dig or what they find as delicious or what the blink at.
And so, when you have those people and you can get them to reference your website, boom, you’re going to have ‑ not only, in those cases, it’s good for getting indexed, for people finding you, but it’s also just to get for, you know, backlink love. It’s good for traffic, traffic in general, you know. You definitely want traffic on your website.
Paul: We’ve talked about that over and over. Get on, you know, get your social media on people.
Chris: Yeah, it works. It works. And, you know, even Mo Serious, Chuck.
Paul: Chuck.
Chris: Chuck.
Paul: The SEO rapper.
