Paul: [Laughter]
Paul: Don’t expect us next week. [Laughter]
Chris: Oh, yeah. Actually, we’re — I’m glad you reminded me or maybe you were just saying it. [Laughter]
Paul: Oh, yeah, I was just saying that.
Chris: Next Friday, I’m going to be in court. Don’t worry, it’s just traffic ticket. So we’re going to do our podcast on Thursday morning. So if you’re going to tune in for the videocast Thursday morning, I’ll put something out on USTREAM to kind of warn our listeners of which it looks like we have this one today. Thank you for watching. Maybe it’s Darren Booy. Maybe it’s — whoever you are, thank you for watching. We really appreciate everybody. You are listening to the most popular SEO podcast on iTunes. You’re watching the most popular SEO podcast on USTREAM.

Paul: There you go. That was — dude, I like that. That was good.
Chris: Somebody should write that down later. As usual, we like to cover what we covered on the last podcast. Last podcast, we talked about pay-per-click. This is an SEO podcast, why would we talk about — Paul, why would we talk about pay-per-click?
Paul: How about, it works? Continue reading “The Search Engine Baidu and SEO” »
Yes they can save the world. Â Well if you believe that saving the rainforest is tantamount to saving the world, here is a great analysis that proves Google could save the world.
From Darren Booy – darrenbooy.eu
Ecosia.org – Can’t remember if you have mentioned this before (Yahoos and Bings new weapon against Google!) Every search saves 2 m² metres of the rainforest.
This afforded my ‘pointifying’ nerdiness.
The rainforest consists of 75million acres of the earth (remaining)
7500000 acres = 30351423168 m²
Ecosias release date was 3rd December (approx 513 days ago)
Ecosia.org  has so far saved 54 041 858 m²  SO 54 041 85 / 513 =   10, 534m² rainforest saved every day since its release
Now here is the interesting part.
(30351423168 – 54041858) / 10534Â = 2 876 151 days left of nominal searching patterns!
Current Remaining Rainforest – what Ecosia.org  has already saved / average m2 saved every day = days left to save the rain forest!
2 876 151 / Â 365 = 7879 years of searching!!!
Of course this might reduce as other organisations are also working to save the rain forest + the rain forest is constantly reducing in size every day but is this really worth bothering to use Ecosia?
Now this really got me thinking..
Google has 9100000 every day in searches EVERY DAY, so what if GOOGLE adopted this policy as Ecosia?
(15175711584 Â Â - 54041858) / 9100000 = 1661 days! Â Â (remember every search is 2m2)
1661 / 365 = 4.55 years! (not including Ecosia’s contribution)
What if GOOGLE, YAHOO (60m), MSN (28m), AOL(16m), ASK (13m) and ECOSIA Â + OTHERS (6m) adopted this policy?
(15175711584 – 54041858) / 21300000 = 709 days
709 /365 = 1.94 years the Rain forest will be completely protected
Pretty cool huh!! Â Â Â (you heard it here first!)
P.S.   There was a slght fallacy in my last email, 90m searches a day for Google was based on figures based ONLY for the US in 2003!
SO
Google ACTUALLY has 46230000 every day in searches EVERY DAY, so what if GOOGLE adopted this policy as Ecosia?
(15175711584 Â Â - 54041858) / 46230000 = 327 days! Â Â (remember every search is 2m2)
So in less than a year Google could save the ENTIRE rainforest and therefore the Word!
This caught me totally of guard. I opened my clients website one day and I had this error. I do not know what happened how it got “upgraded” the usually referenced cause or how it worked the day before and then started generating this error the following morning. None of that matters you need a solution fast.
If you go in your _fpClass folder of your site and edit the following file fpdbrgn1.inc. You will want to change, At about line 19:
fp_DEBUG = False
to
fp_DEBUG = True
Now you might get an error message with the following:
Thanks to Microsoft and their thorough debugging once again.
The quick solution I found was to replace the fpdbrgn1.inc with the file that was there before the upgrade. I would have been screwed if I did not have a backup on my development server. When I replaced the new file with the old file all was well. I thought I would do this blog entry for anyone who might not have the saving grace of a development server holding an older version. So here is the older version I used. Download fpdbrgn1.inc here.

Here is an example of how easy it is to get on the first page of Google. That is, of course, for a very rare search term. In our case the search term is Blue One Armed Widgets. One could also call these Bloue One-Armed widgets. The important thing to remember about first page placement is content is king.
Well content is king and not necessarily easy to accomplish in the case of much sought after search terms like mp3. But content is king and easy for terms like “Blue One Arm Widget”
In this case the thing we have done properly is include multiple references to the famed Blue One Armed widgets. We have also included them in our title tag, because I am using the Optimal Title plug in for WordPress. I will also include an image with proper alt tags.
This is all we need to get great search engine placement. See it is easy!!
